Flat Finish Extrusion

Flat Finish Extrusionnnrn

Many customers are requesting that mk North America incorporate flat finish profiles into their designs due to their cleaner look, lack of areas for debris to collect and build up and their overall finish. The closed T-slots also make the frame appear stronger because of their solid appearance. The response from customers has been overwhelmingly positive and the flat finish profiles are rapidly becoming some of our top selling shapes.

Traditionally used by medical companies for their cleanliness, we are seeing a trend of many manufacturers switching to flat finish profile shapes. In addition to the medical companies, we are seeing orders from pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, consumer packaged goods and electronics companies for flat finish profiles as well. Click the photo above to see all these shapes, including several new shapes that are now stocked at mk. This link includes a PDF that can be emailed to your current customers or accounts that you are targeting. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
This picture is an enclosure covering an mk conveyor made with the mk flat finish or smooth profiles, as some of our competitors have labeled them, with a heavy duty handle and hinge. The hinge also features an integrated, schmerzal, hinged safety switch and polycarbonate panel mounted in the T-slot.

This picture shows a typical right angle connection made with a non-visible, internal tension plug fastener, which makes the connection look seamless. Also featured are the mk end caps, used for creating a finished look on the profile ends. Panel mounting is achieved using the new mk part B34.01.003, which is similar to the old mk part mk 2552, but which now features a cover for the hardware. It also prevents dust and debris from having an area to collect in. Easy panel removal is still enabled by using a wrench to remove the screws.

This picture reflects a series of identical rolling carts for inspection instruments, which are made from the flat finish profiles. These carts feature 75 mm total lock casters and a base shelf made of lab resin material. Lab resin was chosen for its high quality look, machine ability and dense mechanical properties.
