New Weber SLIM-09 Controler

Weber USA is proud to announce an update to the successful SLIM-08 controller which has been available for some time. The new updated system brings all the benefits of the older 08 control package but with many upgraded features: nnrn

The SLIM09 is also part of the new ECO-TORK product range and is designed to allow replacement of expensive to operate, noisy and maintenance intensive pneumatic prime movers such as one-shot screwdrivers, air motors and other devices requiring air and oil. nnrn

The system has a clean new look while maintaining backwards compatibility and high reliability for use in high cycle fastening applications. nnrn

The new form factor also now offers either monochrome or full color HMI (human machine interface) and provides even more feedback to the operator than was available from the older 08 product line. nnrn

These ‘customer driven’ features bring a new level of capability to the controller which now has higher performance output from the motor packages, higher cycle capability, lower ‘current’ usage (energy savings) and has the ability to accommodate various future upgrades due to the capability of internal components used. The closed t-slots also make the frame appear stronger because of the solid look. rn The Details:

rn Lab resin was selected as the material of choice in this application for its dimensional stability, low cost, free machinability, and availability.

rnnnrn Brass bar inserts were fitted into the features of these pallets which are used as engaging surfaces for the escapement, stop/locate, and clamp as well as proximity sensor flags.

rnnnrn Ensat threaded inserts are installed at customer-specified locations to accommodate the fixtures that will be mounted atop the pallet surface.

rn The Logistics:

rn After an on-site meeting with our customer and Engineering staff, an application specification was defined and realized in a 3D digital prototype and 2D CAD drawing submitted for approval. In conjunction with mk, our distributor served as an integrator; specifying, supplying, and installing all of the necessary controls and pneumatics service components; allowing the successful delivery of a fully functional and tested turn-key pallet handling system for which our customer was present to witness and approve.nnrnnnrn

rn Due to the critical nature of the project timeline the completed system was immediately crated and shipped via courier, arriving at the customer’s dock that very afternoon.nnrnnnrn
